The wiring array on top of the jackbox is the connect point
between the jackbox toggle switches and the jackbox main junction. It
is here that the organ resources (stops and couplers) are assigned to the
Duo Art system. Two students from the Electrical Engineering Department
at the University of Missouri were hired to help with wiring tasks. Here,
Jarrod Murdaugh traces the wiring.
While the jackbox pictured had been partially hooked up to Opus 1280 for
over 40 years, that task was incomplete and was never operational. As
a result, the jackbox interface was completely redesigned for the current
location. The jackbox was subsequently totally rewired.
