Welcome to my home web site!

I lost my very dear friend Mike on 3/31/10 to cancer.  We shared a lot of good times and I will miss him more than I can possibly say.
RIP, Mike.

I have updated my website Travel page with my most recent getaways.  Please visit  Webshots to see pictures of all of my trips.

Words of Wisdom!

"Don't listen to the negative people in your life.  They will only bring you down."
(Been there, done that.)

Take the time to enjoy the beauty in the things around you.
Life is too short; enjoy what you can, while you can.

I recently heard this saying in a movie I watched....
"Live every day as though it is the last one, because some day, it will be."
Think about it!

Once upon a time, not so long ago....well, OK, maybe it has been a few years ago...OK, OK, so it was a lot of years ago.......Are you happy now?

(Cute little thing, wasn't I?)
A little girl was born in Kansas City, May of 1950 ( do the math).  Her parents named her Connie and that little girl was me.  I grew up in the same basic area, graduating from Oak Park HS in 1968.  After I got married, I gave up the big city for a small town existence.

I now live in a small town outside of Kansas City in the Show-Me State of Missouri.
After lots of years of becoming nothing more than a number in the big corporate world, I made a couple of job changes.  But for now, I am semi-retired, working part-time and am enjoying my home time a lot more.  My background was in computer software.
I have been divorced since 1991, so I have had to learn to be very independent.  And it hasn't always been easy, but I have managed to survive.

My wonderful family, who I think the world of.

My life consists of (but not limited to and not necessarily in this order):
bullet River City Players (RCP) - the community theater group I have been involved with since it's inception in 1982, although I am taking a break after 20 years
bulletTravel - something I very much enjoy doing, although I don't get to go as much as I would like.  Hopefully there will be a lot more opportunities in the future
bulletMy family - 2 sons and 2 daughters and their significant others, along with 7 of the most fantastic grandkids a person could want
bulletMy home - I take great pride in what I have been able to accomplish on my own
bullet Lastly, my work - a necessary evil :-)  But, not nearly as important as it was at one time.

One of the highlights of the year is July 4th....this has ALWAYS been one of my kids favorite holidays.  A couple of years ago, what did we do different?   How about a rousing game of mud volleyball?  (OK, that is me in the red, if you can't tell....)
