- Atchley Park--gravel trail is 1.25 miles, with hills--twisty.
- Bennett Spring State
Park--from the head of the spring to the wooden bridge (1.5 miles),
to Highway 64 (1.75 miles), across 64 to low-water bridge on gravel road
(2.25 miles). Campground Hill--start at the large rock above the gate
house--it is .25 miles to the stop sign at the top of the first hill, and a
further .25 mile to the campground entrance signs--very steep--my normal
time is 5:20 for the half-mile. Do 3 repeats and you will want to hunt
a shady spot!
- High School track--777 Brice Street. A small group of runners
meet there on Saturdays, when we're not racing, at 8:00 am--feel free to
drop by and enjoy the camaraderie of runners. We don't bite!
- St. John's of Lebanon (Breech)--there is a 5K course marked--it
begins with a green line across part of the road near the lower parking lot,
and continues with arrows. Miles 1 and 2 are marked along Tower Road,
and then coming back on Cowan Drive--an excellent course for tempo runs, or
mile repeats, as it simulates real race conditions. It is also the
site of the Mercy Me Fun
- Dilworth Road--an uphill-downhill dream, with a killer hill
awaiting near the radio station--an excellent hill interval session, or
fartlek, or if you are planning on running out West!
