This gun rack was a custom order from a lady who wanted a "unique" gift for her husband. The bottom drawers are big enough to hold several boxes of shotgun shells and the rack is perfectly sized for someone who doesn't have a whole wall to dedcate to their guns, or want to purchase a whole cabinet. Both drawers have full mortise locks for security.
It is all solid wood and plywood, finished inside and out. The top and bottom of the drawer unit are edged in cherry, and the escutcheons are sawn from 1/8" cherry. The intarsia is cherry, walnut, oak and maple and is adapted from a pattern in Wood magazine. The gun rack itself is an original design, and the plans are for sale as well.
This is a very nice piece, and any hunter would be proud to display his rifles in this rack.
