This was a very big custom job. The WWCATS (World Wide Catfish Anglers Tournament Series) guys wanted me to make trophies for their tournaments this year. They didn't quite know what they wanted, only that they wanted them to look good. The picture on the left is the regular trophies that I made for their tournaments. Eight tournaments with seven trophies for each one. The trophies measured about eight inches across the fish. The fish was 1/2" Red Oak, the back plate was 1/2" Black Walnut and the letters were all sawn out of 1/4" Black Walnut. She had the little brass nameplate made by a local trophymaker.
The picture on the right was their Angler of the Year trophy. It was about a foot across; the fish was 1/2" Red Oak and the back plate was an intarsia of 1/2" Western Red Cedar and Black Walnut. These were challenging and fun to make, and the guys at WWCATS were all very happy with the results. Thanks, Pat.
