Scattering Fork Outdoor Center is located on forty acres of woodlands and wetlands surrounded by farms and criss-crossed by the meandering Scattering Fork Creek just southwest of Mexico Missouri. At one time, this area was a campground of the Fox Sauk Indians and later traversed by soldiers fighting on both sides of the Civil War . In order to preserve the area's rich natural and historical background, Scattering Fork collaborates with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City. By providing programs and information we hope will foster a larger understanding of "community," which includes the natural world. We now have Thread the Needle, Three Tire Traverse and another Spider Web in a new trail loop hooked onto the TEAM CHALLENGE COURSE. Just off the Games Area, is a new adventure called The Mississippi Challenge - shades of Tom Sawyer and his river raft.

Scattering Fork's Team Challenge Course is an excellent place to increase communication and practice mutual support among members of your group while at the same time enhancing the feelings of personal worth and self-confidence among individuals. Visitors are invited to participate in a series of activities designed to challenge problem-solving and communication skills. Facilitators accompany each group, providing guidance and feedback that can help participants remove blocks to effective communication and appreciate their group's diverse strengths and leadership styles. The Teams Challenge Course is beneficial to people of all ages and abilities - it is not a physical fitness test. While some activities are more challenging than others, participants find that with the support of the group, anything is possible. One of the best things about spending time at SFOC is that you are guaranteed to leave with a smile.

Build Teamwork Up High
Come see the latest additions to the High Ropes Challenge Course at Scattering Fork Outdoor Center. The thrill of accomplishment and the power of perceived risk combine to build teamwork and cement relationships. The challenge events can help sports teams, organizations and leadership groups step out of the box and achieve extra-ordinary results. Come see for yourself! We would be proud to show off our course: the best outdoor ropes course in central Missouri.

Now Offering: A Rain-Proof Experience
The raindrops may fall, but that doesn't mean your team-building experi- ence gets all wet. A new 30'x40' enclosed pavilion and creative indoor team-building initiatives make it possible to weatherproof your day at the course. You can also use the versatile building for meetings or meals preceding or following outdoor team-building events.
