Scattering Fork holds several events during the year that are open to the public. 

  • Owl Prowl: Come see "Hootie" our mascot and walk the trails to hear the owls. Test your owl calling skills. Second Saturday in January - 6pm.. 
  • Wild Flower Walks: See nature's own floral show - unrehearsed and live. Third Monday in April - at 2pm and again at 5pm.
  • Wild Edibles Seminar: Find out what delectible treats can be made from wild sources. Third Saturday in May at 9 a.m.
  • Grandparent's Day: Kids can bring their grandparents to this event, which is fun for young and old. First Sunday in September at 4 p.m. 
  • Halloween Happening: Haunted woods, corn maze, spooks, goblins  - Scattering Fork comes alive with all manner of spirits. Family fun for all ages. Last Sunday in October from 5pm to 8 pm.

Scattering Fork Outdoor Center has been in operation since late 1992 and is located southeast of Mexico on Audrain Rd. 815.
