How to Say the Rosary
Beginning with the crucifix, make the Sign of the Cross
and pray the "Apostles Creed."
On the first large bead,
pray the "Our Father." Then pray on "Hail Mary" on each of
the three following small beads. On the next large
bead, pray the "Glory Be to the Father." Then announce the 1st
mystery, followed by the "Our Father."
Pray one
"Hail Mary" on each of the following ten small beads. Repeat the
sequence beginning with the "Glory Be to the
Father" (after which is said "Oh My Jesus…" –see following
page), announcing the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
mysteries
followed by the " Our Father" and 10 "Hail Marys" with
"Glory Be…" and "Oh My Jesus…" A suggested
conclusion to the rosary is to pray the "Hail Holy Queen."
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness,
and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished
children of eve; to you do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this
vale of tears. Turn then, most
gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show
unto us the blessed fruit of your
womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. Response; that we may be made worthy of the
promises of Christ. Let us
pray; O God whose only begotten son, by his life, death, and resurrection, has
purchased for us the rewards of
eternal salvation, grant, we beseech you, that meditating upon these mysteries
of most holy rosary of the Blessed
Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise.
Through the same Christ our
Lord Amen.
