Our Vegetables

We grow our produce using only natural methods; no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. We rotate our gardens and utilize companion planting practices to naturally keep our vegetables strong and healthy. We make our own potting soil from our own compost. We grow all our plants from seed; we are partial to heirloom varieties but also grow some "moderns" and hybrids. We DO NOT use Genetically Engineered seeds or plants on our farm; we feel that if God and Nature didn't want to grow them, we don't either. We feed our soil with rich compost every year, and we give the chickens, ducks, and geese plenty of time in the off season to pick over, clean, and fertilize the beds, too (they do a great job!). We mulch our crops heavily and water using soaker hoses. We are experimenting with hoop houses and row covers to extend our growing season.

Pricing:

We try to keep our prices in line with current market prices.  We are competitive with what you are probably used to.  We do, however, feel that what we do is important, the products we provide are superior, and that we should therefore be able to earn a reasonable living from our farm, from customers who appreciate good food and what it takes to produce it.  Our time, our money, and our hard work are wrapped up in what we produce and offer to you.  We are not going to "gouge" you, but neither are we going to work for less than what we and our products are worth.  Please don't expect us to lower either our standards or our prices.  If you see that some of our prices are higher than what you are used to from the mega-chain "supers", well...that's because we are not producing factory food to mass market all across the nation.  We believe our foods are the freshest, healthiest, and tastiest you can get anywhere.  It's what it ought to be.  Remember, especially with food, you get what you pay for...
